I m 18 and I have hair loss since 17. I started Rogaine 8 months ago. I had almost got back my original density and it had been that way for 6 months or so. Suddenly since the last three weeks I am shedding 70 hairs or so everyday. I got scared and started 1mg finasteride last week. No sides yet, Alhamdulillah. Just had a few questions.

1. Is this just a Rogaine synchronized shed?
2. By what time should I see finasteride stopping the shed?
3. If assuming Rogaine has lost effectiveness, will it be advisable to use it even after starting finasteride?

Cycles of shedding are to be expected with both Minoxidil and Finasteride. Be prepared for the possibility of more shedding since you've just started Finasteride. Just stick through the sheds and your hair will come back stronger and thicker.
