I have been taking finasteride for 4 months and minoxidil for 3 months but by the end of the day the sebum production is so much that the sebum can be visually seen and quite clearly. I m using a shampoo which contains saw palmetto, caffeine and other ingredients every day. It's quite mild. Is this much sebum production normal after 4 months on finasteride?
I had it prior to using to finasteride

I suggest a shampoo with ketoconazole to dry up that sebum.

^ I second that. Try to get the prescription strength Nizerol shampoo, if you can.

Also, wouldn't suggest using it every day. It could dry up your natural hair oils.

Just to be clear: you didn't have these issues prior to 4 months ago?

If anything, I think finasteride is supposed to reduce sebum production. Perhaps it is the minoxidil product?

Would 1℅ nizoral work?

I don't think your original post made that clear, and people's replies are thus going to be misguided.

Two questions:

-1- do you also suffer from seborrheic dermatitis (or scalp acne)?

-2- have you ever been on Accutane (isotretinoin) or considered it recently?

the excess sebum and hair loss are related.
