Lets just pretend your 24 years old and are losing hair. You have some hairloss on moms side where a few uncles maybe about 46-50 are norwood 3-4. Im losing hair at crown, and it itches big time at crown and recently hairline. Coincidently im losing hair at hairline. Is this a mature hairline? if it is can I do anything about it? male pattern baldness is worse when you have hair, but dont know if its male pattern baldness or not.

bud, if you're losing hair at the crown at 24, in addition to hairline recession it's most definitely male pattern baldness. all a mature hairline is is the hairline going up about a half an inch max, and the temples receding a bit as well. but if your crown is thinning at 24, and given your family history, looks like you're heading towards baldsville without intervention of meds.

and by the way, having no hair is certainly worse than having the male pattern baldness genes but still having a substantial amount of hair. at least when you have a lot of hair you can get on finasteride or dutasteride and keep what you have for awhile.
