A finasteride question

Hey

I took the plunge yesterday and started on 1mg finasteride and it was all going well considering sides untill i got this burn in my chest area near the nipples...so i kind of panicked and skipped the pill today.

I was wondering if that's a normal reaction of my body adapting to the changes in DHT levels and just push through it or maybe take 1mg EOD or should i discontinue usage?

Probably just a mental thing. Start with .25 EOD and then .25 ED. Keep increasing the dose. Good luck buddy don't think about the sides too much.

Yea that's where the problem comes ... here in egypt the generic version of propecia comes in capsule form and i'm not sure as to whether it's even possible to split capsules. Oh and propecia here costs a fortune lol.

You try finding it online? I guess you could always pull the capsule apart, dump half the powder into a shot glass, fill it with water, and drink it. The next time you dose you can just take the capsule.

Yeah i think i can do that...but i just want to know whether I should worry because the burning sensation on the nipples won't stop and i skipped today's pill... can someone really develop gyno from 1 pill?

OP, is the burning "near" the nipples or are your nipples actually burning? I respectfully don't believe burning nipples are a mental thing. Have you ever had them before? Since you only took 1 mg and waiting a few days will not result in a setback with yor regimen, I would wait to see if it subsides and then decide if you want to take it again. If you take another reduced dose and get the same physical symptoms, I would discontinue use.

It would be very unusual to come on that quickly, but if you have never had the burning sensation, then I would, if I was you, wait a few days to see if the burning goes away then decide if you want to start again. If you get it a second time, then I would stay off.

No you aren't going to develop gyno from 1 pill. Worrying will only make the matter worse. It could be an indicator that if you do take finasteride you will eventually develop it. The thing is DHT levels bounce right back up that is why you have to take a pill everyday. I'm not quite sure , so don't quote me on this, but if it was gyno your nipples would also be puffy. If it doesn't go away tomorrow, I don't think it was because of finasteride.
