it has actually beem about 8 1/2 months since i had a strip procedure with 1471 grafts transplanted. what can i say except i an exstatic! it is far better than i ever expected. not perfect to the balding eye but a 150% improvement. i've realized over the months that the worst critic of a balding person is another balding person or bald person. how sad is that?

anyway, it's been awhile since i've been here so i figure i'd give you all an update. everything is going extremely well. my new hair is growing like weeds! i keep catching my wife staring at me and saying how good my new hair looks. it makes me feel pretty good. a funny thing i just realized is that for the last 4 months, i have not worn a hat. i have been wearing hats since i was 19 almost all the time. how cool is this!

so it's been almost 9 months and i am assuming that all of my TP's are growing in. i just wonder if maybe there are more hiding in there waiting to sprout? i run my fingures through my hair and i feel what seems to be little stubbles. could this be more hair growing?

so far, my regimin consist of my 1471 TP's, proscar in 1/4's and i skip the 5th day, and i just added revita. i was using nizoral for the past 8 months but switched to the revita because it has a lot more of the hair stimulant magic potion. LOL.

anyway, i will post some good quality pics soon.

The hairline placement looks really good, very symmetrical. Even though it was only 1500, it was used very well. I think one more procedure to thicken it up starting from the front and fading towards the back will take you to that great level with more face framing, that's if you are not totally content and hair greed is creeping up on you.

Are you still experiencing anyt growth at this point?

Great result though. Congrats.

thanks LG. i am happy with the way it's going at this point. i'm not to annal about my hair so i would imagine that i am done for awhile. i will give it the full 14 months before i decide what to do for sure. not really looking for that 20's thick head of hair. it will always be a chase if i go for it. there's more important things in life than chasing my hairline!

Your hair looks really good considering how many grafts you got for the amount of space covered. The Doctor did a great job. I would recommend getting more transplants in time but hey I'm 31 but look 20 so I guess it all depends on what you want to get out of the procedure.

you're 31? i thought you were my age, maybe even a little younger, so about 20. no offense intended.

looking good dirtrider. i echo what lg says and i would look to put another 1500 or so into that area and then you should be a thick NW2 rather than a thin to medium thickness NW2. just my $.02 1500 more grafts and you should be set for life if you stay on proscar.

DR,

You look awesome baby! Wow, you have a great result! You're also making some wise decisions on waiting until 14 months or so before deciding on the next one. You were also wise in not dropping your hairline too low. It looks very appropriate on you man.

Yes, you still have some more coming through. How much more? Hard to say, but you are probably very near the end of new hair breaking scalp. Still, great result for the number of grafts done. :hairy:

I am also very happy for you that you are finally free from wearing caps all of the time. Now, you have a choice!

Keep the pics coming. It would be great to see how you look twelve months or so post-op. :) Best wishes to you DR.

thanks for all the positive support. i had my wife look at my recipient area with a magnifying glass and she says that there are still small hairs sprouting up in my recipient area so i am confident that there is more comming and the revita seems to make my hair feel thicker. pretty good stuff.

i've also noticed a lot of new, but very fine hair in my vertex area. i'ts gotta be from the finasteride. for a while there i was very skeptical because it seemed i was loosing more than i was gaining. it has seemed to finaly make a turn around. so all you guys on finepecia, stick it out for at least a year before you throw in the towel.

hey GILL, thanks for all your support over the past 6 months. man, you really know your stuff. i really appreciate it. and yes, i am very happy with my hairline. at first, it kinda looked to sharp in front but now that it's all growing in, i love it. and to be honest, i left the hailine placement up to my doctor, dr garbutt, and my hat goes off to him. he did a great job.

anyway, i will give it a full 14 months before i decide if i want or need another procedure. my scar is vertually undetectable and i would hate to go through what CCS is going through with his scar.

if anyone is seriously considering a procedure and you are in the southern california area, look me up so you can see what i got done. it looks way better in person than in these pics.

DR,

You're very welcome. No one would know you had a hair transplant. If it looks that good in pics, I can just imagine what it looks like in person!

If I ever get to SoCal I'll look you up. My son is a career Marine and he just got back from Iraq. He's at Camp Marimar in San Diego. I could also stop by and see Dr. Paul Straub who is in your area.

Keep the pics coming! Take care man.
