My uncle recently retired from marketing/sales. Never-divorced, has a great pension, and was a Norwood 1 until age 35.......a norwood 2 until 65 (and the norwood 2 looked perfect on him, a slight mature hairline, silver-gray hair, and basically just good looking all around).

Never once did this guy ever seem to worry about his looks at all, or seem to be "vain".

If anyone on the planet had beaten the odds on bald, it was this guy. He'd been corporate, climbing the ladder in a looks-dominated field, gotten married, and stayed healthy.

At 65,his frontal hairline totally started to disintegrate out of the blue. No real explanation. It was like a huge major frontal shed and suddely his "frame" was gone----even though he was still a Norwood 3.

You wouldnt believe the level of freak out on this older guy.

And the whole time im thinking "you have no f*****g idea pal".

My dad is about to hit 70. He's also one of those guys you wouldn't think would care about his looks, and had a similar high stress job. Administrator at Xerox. He's a NW2, and has been since his 40's. I hope this doesn't happen to him, but we'll see. His brother still has hair, and his dad still had hair in his early 80's so I think he's fine, but you just never know.

Sure a NW3 isn't even that bad, unless it's a very thin one... Slightly delayed mid life crisis maybe
