Hi, I am a first time poster
my regimen is as follows
Proscar 1/4 everday
minoxidil 5% twice daily
nizoral shampoo eod
I have hit the six month point and my results have been satisfactory up till now. I started out with alot hair as I was just beginning to thin at the temples, alot more on the right side. I also had some diffuse thinning in the back, but the only way to really tell was under a bright light.
At 6 months, the crown is back to normal. Even on the temples I have filled up the thinned area with hair, although many are still not dark. The hairs that are not dark are long though. Basically, if all the long colorless hairs were to go dark, my hairline would be perfectly normal.
However in the last 4-5 days I have a spot towards the front of my hair that has thinned dramatically! The spot is right next to the area I have been applying the most minoxidil to. Interestingly, the thinning is not symmetric. The areas that I address first, the temples and the crown, have not been affected at all. Its at the front towards the right. And by dramatic I mean it has visibly thinned in less than a week.
I checked my pillow and I only counted 11 hairs from the previous night. The hair was not falling out on my desk at school today on its own, but if I started rubbing my hand through it, hair started coming off pretty readily. Today when I rubbed my minoxidil in, I noticed an unusual amount of hair stuck to my fingers. First time I ever noticed.
Any Idea as to what is happening? I have been under some stress lately and I wonder how much of an effect that may be having.
