.5mg finasteride Starting dosage??

Hi guys,


I'm a newbie, although I've been reading posts on this site for about 6 months now. I'm looking to keep the hair on my head while minimizing side effects. I have slowly receeding temples but the recession is starting to gain momentum recently. What do you guys think of starting out finasteride on a .5mg dosage? I can up to 1 mg if there are no side effects and I keep losing hair after 6 mths.

Just wanted to run it by you guys before I sound like an idiot in front of my Doctor in two days.

As I understand it, 1mg is the dosage that had the best balance of results and side effects. So if that's true then I'm sure that taking .5 mg is fine. It will block less DHT, but side effects should be less. Many people take 1.25 mg of finasteride because they don't experience side effects (or because their hairloss is more important that wood :freaked: )
