5AR Type 1 Inhibitors

I was wondering why finasteride works so well, b/c the scalp is predominantly attacked by Type 1.
Anyway, I presume that is why it is beneficial to incorporate a Type 1 inhibitor. spironolactone, Revivogen, or Xandrox might be the dealbreaker for difficult areas . . . . . . . . . . . . . ?
