Here's my experience. Please don't move this to the stories thread, there's a point to this (see end).

July 2007 - started the big three

I neglected to do anything about hair. I shook off the comments and was told that there was nothing that drugs could do! The point of posting this is to try to get through to the lurkers here - if you are reading this site and you are not yet on the big three, do so now! I came to this site in 2005, read a few posts and forgot about it. If I had started drugs then I could have saved a lot of my hair.

I have since shaved my head and I look fine. But that's besides the point. If you're not doing anything about your hairloss, do so now. Also, if you have a little recession and you're stressing about it, chill out! It could be worse.

Good luck!

Feel for you man, I started to receed at 13, I grew my hair long to try to hide it but other kids commented, over the years it slowed and by 33 I was a NW3, I have been taking proscar for the past 12 months and my non hair transplant hair has improved

Hope the big three work out for you

"good" pictures which show the progress your hair loss has taken. The Big 3 is your way to go, but you should also consider hair transplants in the future. Treatments alone won´t give you satisfying results. I can just repeat what i have told other newbies. Waste no time and get on treatments or your life might be ruined!!!

I have met quite some balding/balding guys who are finance leaders in the industry, they are living great lives and I don't think hair loss ruined their lives at all.

I'm new to the hairloss problem and this forum. What is 'The Big 3'?

Big 3 is finasteride (Propecia, Proscar etc.), minoxidil (Rogaine, Regaine, liquid etc.) and Nizoral shampoo

Damn man that's a hard thing to go through that young... I feel for ya. I saw a good mate of mine for the first time in about three years the other day. I remember back when he was 14 or so he already looked like your pictures at 17 and was also losing it fast. Nowadays it's totally slick on the whole top of his head and thinning badly on the back and sides even - he'll be a classic horseshoe by the time he's 25. However, like you, he has a very good head shape and keeps it razored once a week or fortnight. I was actually surprised how well it suited him and how good he looked, as that was never the case in the past. I didn't ask him about it, but it's obvious he's never tried any treatments.

I suppose if you have a good head shape, that's half your battle won if things go bad with the treatments. I still have great sympathy for anyone who has to go through MBP as such a young age. I think back to how much of a kid I was at 18... there's no way I'd be able to handle it.

Sucks going through school like this, luckily no one has noticed my hair line since i grew out my hair. I feel for you though. I would just shave it off if i were you.

Although I can be weary, his hair is too short to avoid problems with sebum flow.

Accordding to my theory this is a book example.

Best regards

The big three will hopefully maintain what you have now. But you might consider getting a hair transplant to recover what's lost.

Or you can always try the big two. Which consists of:

1. A Motorcycle
2. Karate

The motorcycle is so you and your lady can escape police after you Karate kick someone in the face for commenting on your hairloss.

But seriously the first part I actually mean, consider the hair transplant and the big three. And good luck buddy.
