Hang in there, guys. Keep it up for at least 1 year. If you are not having any side effects besides shedding, then keep going. I initially took Propecia for about a year and a half, saw no significant improvement (although I maintained what I had and had some very slight improvement when comparing photos), and then stopped taking it because I pursued laser therapy. The idiots who ran the place I went to told me to stop taking finasteride while undergoing laser therapy. After I stopped taking finasteride, my crown became thinner than it had ever been. Now I'm back on it and I'm seeing my crown fill in slowly. I'm almost certain that I wouldn't have suffered the loss to the crown if I would have stayed with it all along. I think the fact that I'm showing improvement after jumping back on it validates this belief. Just my own personal advice: Give it at least 1 full year. If your hair ends up looking the same or any better after 1 year, stick with it. If you begin sufferring side effects or your hair ends up looking worse, then I'd say you should probably consider another treatment. Just my 2 cents.

Ive been on it 3 years and it has maintained for sure. A four month break from it and i realised how much it was actually doing, even if its maintaining what you've got its working. Dont expect a thick head of hair from it. Those four months also made me realise it was working once i began thinning... getting back on top of that now i think. Remember ive been on it for 3 years... 5 months is just the start.

It's also been three years for me as well on the treatment that I am using and I am maintaining. Congrats on keeping what you've got!
