5 mg doses for fincar? and semen damage?

Dosage and Administration
Fincar is recommended for use in adult males. The recommended dose is 5 mg once a day with or without meals. Although early improvement is seen, at least 6-12 months of therapy with Fincar, it may be necessary in some patients to assess whether a beneficial response has been achieved. Periodic follow up evaluations should be performed to determine whether a clinical response has occurred. Dose adjustment is not required in geriatric individuals with impaired renal function. No dose adjustment is required in impaired hepatic function. Since finasteride is metabolised extensively in the liver, the drug should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.


INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS
Women of child bearing potential should not handle crushed or broken Fincar tablets and avoid exposure to the semen of men on Fincar because of the potential risk to the male foetus

but even with fincar its still 1 mg doses right? adn wahts with the semen and stuff i need to have sex! and not be afraid!

Yes, just 1mg! 5mg is the dosage reccomended for enlarged prostates. Perhaps thats what that literature was reffering to?

No. I use Proscar, the drug that Cipla is emulating. Checking that website, the indications you posted were indeed for symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and not androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness). 5mg is the doseage reccomended for BPH. 1mg is the dosage reccomended for male pattern baldness.

And as for that line reguarding women of child bearing age should avoid the semen of men on Fincar, they took that from early indications listed for Proscar. This drug could be very dangerous to a developing foetus, which is why women of child bearing age should avoid it. There was concern that some of the drug may show up in the semen of men taking it. It has later been shown that this is NOT the case, so this particular warning should be disreguarded.

I dont think any of us would be on this drug if it made our semen dangerous. What the hell would the point be then?

ha yea no sh*t.....but that scared me...cause i dont want to kill any girls unintentaily....i just orderd half of year of finasteride car (47 bucks worth the risk) but now im afraid it wont work cause of various results from diff people saying that it didnt nothing bu tproscar did alot......its coming in the mail...but im still afraid to take it...and 6 months later if i had used proscar instead and gotten results.....im just scared that me saving money right now is just killing my hair further.....

The same fear led me to waste $70 on an order of Fincar.. I ordered it and then thought twice about it, and orders some Proscar.

I'd say odds are the fincar will work for you.

But that sliver of doubt doesnt sit well, does it.
