4 Year Update - Results, pics and thoughts

It’s a few weeks early, but October will mark the fourth year of hairloss for me.

I began propecia 1mg a day July 2002. My hair started receeding the October before that. I wasted no time as I knew what was happening immediately.

Propecia slows down the loss to a snail's pace. Up until the beginning of this year I had nothing interesting to report. Even now, my hairline’s worse, but not too different from a year ago. Thinning is worse at the front, recession progresses a bit each year. The process can’t be stopped, but Propecia does create the illusion that it has gone away, which is nice as you can get on with your life. :)

I’ve been using Minoxidil 5% on my hairline for over two years or so. Nothing much to report, no real results (a few random hairs), but I’ll continue with the routine.

I’ve used Nizoral about as long as Propecia. Great shampoo - does what it says on the tin.

Added a few nice additions like green tea and Folligen (not strict use – just now and then).

I’ve updated my photos with a few for this month. Quality isn’t great, but the thinning is obvious. My left side is dreadful! I’m guessing a year or two before I go for a transplant. I’ll hold out as long as possible.

Thanks for your time.

Hmm, interesting...pics don't look any different from a year ago. We have similar hair. My temples aren't as receded as yours but the top of head thinness is about the same. How different did your hair look the day you started taking propecia?

you hair is very good

if i had that much hair, i'd be happy. maybe your hairloss wasn't that significant for you to be expecting a big difference......

That's a great idea - If you want to lose even more hair..

If your worried after a few more months add minoxidil

I would give answers to some of the queries, but thinking about it, I am still "just learning the ropes" as it were.

This thing takes years, sometimes decades to really understand.

It would be best to speak to one of the 200-350 newbies that joined during the last 6 months and posted 600 times. Some of them will, apparently, be fully qualified to answer those complex questions.

Lol. Even though im a newbie I still don't like those rankings. Cuz all they do is put uncharacteristic names for the number of posts someone has.
