4 months on finasteride. Should I stop? Pics

So tried finasteride before and stopped after 5 months cause felt like it wasn't working. Recently decided to give it another go. I'm about 4 months in and having a real bad shed right now. Thinking I'm a loss cause. Going to see a hair transplant specialist next week but not even sure there's much they can do for me. Prob just gonna give up and do the ole shave.

First pic is before finasteride. Overall thinning.

2nd pic is currently with hair dry. 4 months on finasteride. Hair looks and feels dead.

3rd pic. Incoming terrible. This is after apply rosemary oil I wanted the hairs to get stuck together so you can get a real good look at scalp. Not sure if there's tiny hairs coming in or not. But shows you really how bad it is. If you can zoom in to see if I have any chance of anything coming in or should I just drop it?

It did get better yes. Slowed or stopped my thinning.

No it didnt go back to how it was. I was on dutasteride for 1.5 years my hair got thin fast during that time. When I quit my hair stopped thinning. Got on finasteride after dutasteride for 7 months and hair kept thinning more. Im much better off hair wise without those pills. Im now on topical RU58841 with minoxidil and small dose oral minoxidil for a month only.

Got on finasteride after dutasteride for 7 months and hair kept thinning more. Im much better off hair wise without those pills. Im now on topical RU58841 with minoxidil and small dose oral minoxidil for a month only.

Damn that sucks. Makes me feel like I wish I never tried it. Didn't get any sides from it besides the hair issues but still. Not sure where to go from here now

Yea I didn't get any of that at least. I have an appt with the hair transplant Dr first week of April. Should I just stay on finasteride until then or should I drop it now you think?

I tried finasteride for almost a year and the only thing it did to me was my libido was shattered to none. Hair got no better, no worse, either.

The weird thing is when I got blood work my free test rose by a 100 points on finasteride. So not sure if that's why I have more hairloss?

It does that because less T is converted to DHT.

You havent been on it long enough. If u have been shedding more on finasteride its a good sign.

It's been about a year now though give or take that one month break

Ye 1 month break is nothing. finasteride stays in the tissues for a month. Ye its either hormonal imbalance or sensitivity to T or folicle upregulation.

Thanks for all the help man appreciate it. So would you suggest take some time off and see if it improves. Like I said I'm going to a hair restoration Dr in two weeks so he'll be able to take a look as well

Maybe ask the Dr in 2 weeks before u stop.

Exactly, it's hard to tell if it works by only 4-5 months of taking the pills

No worse either but the cost was too high. I literally feel like there was a dent instead of a boner in my genital area every morning when I woke up.
