4 Month Propecia Update

Well month 4 is already here. I used genuine propecia for the first 2 months and then got a prescription for proscar and have been taking 1.25mg the last 2 months.

My hair loss has completely stopped. Probably like 2 hairs in the shower every day and maybe 3-4 come out while rubbing gel into my hair. It could be my imagination but my right temple looks slightly better but my left still has a long way to go. I'm about a NW2 BTW.

My regime consists of:
1.25mg proscar every night
Tricomin pretty much every night (ONLY thing that really makes the itch better)
Nizoral 2% Monday and Thursday (also prescription, I don't buy stuff over the net)
Nioxin shampoo and conditioner all the other days

Now I just want my hair to never itch again and I will be happy.

At month 4 on Propecia it seemed my hairloss stopped too! And it really stopped.

But then a shed came and it has being on since first April days. Very big shed, which seriously discouragin. But I'm not gonna throw the finasteride out. Yet my hair has thickened much since then, I'm still waiting for complete stop. I've just started month 6 on Propecia.

when you says that you find 2 or 3 hairs in the shower.... do you actually put something on the drain to avoid the hairs to get down with the water ?
Me i use to put a towel on the drain when i take a shower, and i allways find 6 - 10 hairs in the water.

With the towel on the drain, the water will eventually flow into the drain leaving your hair loss in the shower floor. That way you can really see what you have lost.

Is it the case with you guys, you really lose just 2 -3 hairs ?

Well, when I had a non-shed period (about 1.5-2 months ago) I was loosing about 4-6 hairs while showering. But I didn't put anything into the drain I don't need precise numbers, but approximate. So, after showering I allways used a comb on wet hair - not only on the top or the temples, but on full head. And counter how much had stuck in the comb. That was about 4-6 hairs daily while showering.

As I've told recently I have a massive shed (since April first days) now - loosing from 20 to 50 with the same procedure. But through this shed hair has thickened much. So I hope this is the shed and not the male pattern baldness progressing.

Heh no I don't trap anything. Before I was on propecia I saw easily over 100 hairs everytime I showered without trapping them. Now that I see like 2-3 is a huge difference unless somehow my water got better and taking hairs down the drain with it but I doubt that.
