Brief recap. About 2 years ago my Hair started thinning at the crown and receding more on the right than left . Started on 5% Kirkland minoxidil just over a year ago. I use it all over my scalp. About 5 months on that I had incredible results! I was absolutely over the moon. With continuous use, by month 7 my hair started to shed again. So I went to see a dermatologist and I was prescribed 5mg finasteride to be cut into 4 pieces using a pill cutter.
So I've been on 1.25 finasteride for 4 1/2 months now. (Still using minoxidil daily) I have seen no improvement what so ever. My hair looks worse than before. My hair is now thinning ALL OVER. Diffuse thinning if you like. My hairline is rapidly receding on both sides now. It makes me feel sick. I just dont understand how I could go from having amazing results off minoxidil, to start going downhill again. I think finasteride has made my hair worse. Is anyone else in this situation? I have put in for another appointment to see a dermatologist and on hoping to discuss duta.
