2x finasteride per day?

I'm no scientist so I do apologise beforehand if I've got this completely wrong!

I just read that finasteride stays in your system for 6-8 hours, so i was wondering would finasteride be more effective if it was taken twice a day but not necessarily at an increased dosage. E.g 2x0.75 rather than 1x 1.25.

The only reason I'm asking this is because I thought minoxidil was done twice a day for exactly the same reason, but like I said before I'm no expert so apologies if I've got the wrong idea!

Cheers

The serum half-life of finasteride is indeed rather short, being only a few hours (it's a bit longer in older men, a bit shorter in younger men). Here's a scan of a graph from a medical journal study, showing blood levels of finasteride over the 24-hour period after taking Proscar. Keep in mind that the Y-axis of the graph uses a logarithmic scale:

Despite the fact that finasteride is out of your bloodstream rather quickly, its biological effects last a lot longer. It takes a week or two for serum DHT levels to get back to normal after the last dose of finasteride. Thr reason for that is that the enzyme that finasteride knocks out (5a-reductase type 2) takes a fairly long time to recover back to normal levels.

ideally the best way to take finasteride would be to have an IV of it going into the artery in the that leads neck straight to the head (well if this is actually possible and safe), that way you would get a consistent dosage contently but the question is a matter of how practical it is and if it's worth the small difference, i think when i finally get my finasteride i might take 2 halfs a day unless it becomes inconvenient
though on the other hand the mechanics of drugs are unpredictable the half life is dose dependent and dependent on how long it is between dosages
idk about finasteride but i know with dutasteride taking the drug less often shortens the half life and a small dose has a detrimental effect on it's half life
the half life is 6-8 hours, it's not necceceraly out of your system
i don't know how many half lifes it takes before something is declared "out of your system"
most of my half life knowledge is just good old predictable and simple nuclear physics not medicine
