Ive always been worried about losing hair. At 17-19 i developed widows peak and a quite "baloony" forehead. Im 27 today and have more or less the exact windows peak. My father is 65 with decent amount of hair on his head. Far from bald..maybe nw3 give and take.

I just took somw photoa (not the best) and i would rly like ur opinions on what u see. Thanks in advance guya

still looks good, but your hairline does not seem to have slightly receeded, roughly a Norwood 2 I´d say, but on your front pic there seems to be slight thinning towards a Norwood 3 level.

No matter what, go see a trusted, respected dermatologist immediatly for evaluation via Trichoscan, it definitly looks like the first stages of male pattern baldness. You need finasterid + minoxidil, and if that doesnt work after 1,5 years, pull out the big guns. Good Luck!

Here are 2 more detailed photos. Is it thinning at yhe peaks or does it look like that because the hair there grows another direction?

As u also noyice i have alot of white hair for my age

And i forgot to mention. Ont he frontal picture, the reason it looks thinner at the very front is because i cut to much with the machine. IF it was that u were thinking of.

Very similar hairline to mine. Mine started at around 18-19 and stayed that way for the most part until 27 at which point I got on finasteride. You won't be going bald anytime soon, probably never given your dads hair but it is likely that you are receding, extremely extremely slowly like myself. I can't say I have noticed any improvement on finasteride, but it definitely hasn't gotten worse. Whether that is due to finasteride or not its impossible to say because of how slowly I am receding. So yeah, ur next step is to decide if its worth it given the research into the effectiveness of finasteride preventing recession is pretty scarce.

Your hairline looks fine maybe slightly thinner at the temples. Not sure I would do much other than take a pic once a month and compare to see if things get worse. Meds could speed things up since you've maintained well without any so far. You may keep your present hairline for many years.

What worries me isnt the peaks. I think i belong to the minority that actually thinks peaks looks better than a very straight hairline or short forehead,
The thing that worries me is when i get a buzz cut I can see 2 lighter areas at the peaks. I have very fine hair so it also looks worse than it is. Im not sure if its a thinning area or simply looks that way because at the area where its lighter the hair seems to grow on another direction, a split.

Appears to be non-aggressive male pattern baldness. Just get on finasteride if you're cool with your current hairline. Add minoxidil if you're eager to regrow some

29 this year and been on finasteride about 2.5 years now. I think we have very similar hairlines. My dad is also a very similar age as your dad and has good hair for his age but its definitely receded to about a NW2.5-3 area so I always knew from the get go that I would likely end up in that direction when I first noticed hairloss. Looking at pics in his early thirties it seemed he had already receded to roughly that point and it hasn't really changed for him since so my logic with finasteride is to fight off these potentially destructive years and by the point I get to like 35 I will get off it and let nature take its course.

Wow biddy you didnt lie. I literally thought the first picture was of my head LOL. Imo your hairline looks more stabile than mine. I dont know if its because im thinning, or if i have very fine hair/low density or because of my scull shape. Like I said the peaks itself doesnt bother me at all, whats bothering me is the lighter areas around the peaks. Maybe its thinning...but where i have the lighter areas i also notice it goes in a lane to the back of my head similar to urs in the first pick. so either its thinning or the hair is parting, making it look thinner. But under light It looks worrying..under no light it looks ok.

When I have a hair and my hairstyle it looks stabile..a stabiel nw2..its only when i get a buzz cut I get little worried. I dont know my family tree so well since we live in different coutnries, but the only bald person I can think of is my fathers brother...but he passed away at 74 or something. And his son who is 40+ (a bit older than me) seems to have a better harline than me.

What im also wondering is: In ur second pick, if u look at the very front of ur head and in the middle..its thick..and somewhat thinner at the side. Do u think its becasue of thinning or simply the way the hair is growing/parting?

Oh I will be a little spammy now, but my fear also grows way bigger since im prematurely getting white/grey hair, like my father. But I think when i get a full head of white hair it can look pretty awesome with a hairstyle...but if i will prematurely get white hair AND lose a lot of hair im afraid it will totaly ruin my self confidence which is already damn low.

I think for us to make any somewhat accurate assessment of what is going on at the hairline we will need higher quality shots but I am quite certain there isn't much going on at all, it seems stable. From what I can tell your entire head is stable apart from the hairline at the temples, where like mine, there is some minor miniaturisation going on. What I like to do every couple of years is shave my head all the way down to a one to assess how the region behind the temple grows in as a whole. If there is no general thinning in that area it should be really easy to tell. It is also really easy to gauge how strong each hair is with a comb as it slowly grows in so I would advise you to do the same. .

I don't think so. I worried a lot about that area 10 years ago when I first shaved my head (and crown area in general) and nothing has changed since thank god. Fairly sure its because the hair at that point is growing perpendicular to the camera lens.

thanks mate, its hard to say if I got regrowth or not but I haven't noticed any further recession. And yeah luckily enough not to have experienced any crown or vertex balding yet.

I hope ur right, and like i said when i have a buzz cut it looks lighter and each peak. The "positive" thing is it has been like that for years without worsening..so maybe its a normal thing. But when Light hits me it actually looks thin...then agian i know lightning can mess things up. PLus my hair is very fine and low denisty and straight..which always will make it look a lot worse.

IF things get worse, i think hair transplantation is a good things. I know a few ppl whos done it in Istanbul and the results are magnificent. But so far i think im cool, lets wait another 3-5 years and see from there. Like i also said, when my hair is a bit longer it doesnt look worrying at all. its so confusing.

Maybe a Norwood 1, at worst. But it's really not agressive. Actually for 27, it's damn good density there.

What are you taking for it, if anything?

No im def a norwood 2 at best..and this is not me trying to be a pessimist. When I say I have a low density i mean naturally. My brother has the same. I remember even once when my brother had his head on my mothers lap and she was playing with his hair and she said "Why does he have so little hair?". So if the average person has say 150.000 hair on his head, i have naturally like 90-110k, and my hair type is also very straightish making it look even thinner.

Im not taking anything
