First post!

For a while now, I've noticed my hairline receding. Nothing crazy, just something I expected with age. There doesn't seem to be a baldness trend in my family, (my uncle on my mother's side has a full head of hair, same with my uncles on my fathers side. My father though, has thinner hair/balding. But, he's almost in his 60s, so...)

A few weeks ago after getting a haircut, I noticed my hairline... hahaha. And it drove me crazy. I'm super self conscious about it now, especially talking with my brother/mother when they both kinda chuckled and said you could tell I had a receding hairline. It's really bugging me.

So, I've found myself on this forum and lurked for a while. Reading other stories and opinions, so I'm looking to put in my two cents.

Looks like a developed mature hairline to me...though I guess you could try minoxidil on it for a few months and see what happens. Get on Finasteride (generic 5mg version is called Fincar, which you can split into quarters and take daily) and it should hopefully prevent any further receding/thinning. The rest of your hair looks to be in good shape though mate!

Duly noted. :)

Yeah, I just assumed it was what to expect. I guess I wasn't ready for it? I have thick hair, it isn't thinning. Just receding like it is. I'll definitely look into it! Thanks mang!

Compare a picture of your hairline now to one a few years (2-5) ago and see if there's a noticeable change. If not, then you might just have a maturing hairline. If so, then it's probably time to start something.

finasteride would be your best bet, imo. Rogaine can work, but it's more of a short-term solution.

Haha, so I went and looked. Some photos, I feel like I see a difference.. others, it looks the same as to what I have now.

I feel like I'm biased when I'm looking at these photos (I went back to 2006 to 2010). I'm going to post them here. To get other opinions and what not. I'm being meticulous because I don't want to start a routine, spend money, and stress out over something that I didn't need to do in the first place.

Also, I always feel like I read these horror stories with people who start rogaine, and permanently lose all this hair (shed, then it never comes back). Sorry for asking so many questions!

Anyway, I'm posting photos from 2006-2010.

Hmm you seem like you might have lost a bit of your temples, but it's really hard to tell.

Yeah, that's what I notice? Maybe I'm just overreacting, hahaha.

Would starting any kind of product hurt anything if I really didn't need it at this point?
