Hey there,

First post here (been reading for a while though)

I'm 26 years old. I've noticed hair loss for the first time about one year ago, didn't make much of a problem then (I was told to start worrying when hair started to get thinner and thinner...)
So finally I got to the point where my frontal hair went WAY TOO THIN, it just breaks with minimum handling and the hairline is clearly receding.

I believe it's time to take some action and start serious treatment. I've been taking aminoacids (Cystine) for a while with no visible results. Went to a few derms and while some recommended Minoxidil 5%, others said Finasteride (one even said Dutasteride, which it seems to be growing amongs derms as a stronger and more effective alternative to Finasteride). I believe Finasteride to be the most suitable option for me (since I don't have the patience right now to be doing minoxidil twice a day) BUT I don't really know if that would be the right treatment for my case.

I don't seem to have any problem on the crown zone, hair looks good there. But the temple hairs are getting too thin and crappy to even comb. [photos shown for referece]

What treatment would you suggest for my particular case? Will Finateride do fine to prevent hair thinning?

Thanks in advance.
ENGLISH NOT PERFECT, SORRY!

My hair line is similar to yours though I style my hair to cover it, no one has seen my hairloss yet and i'm easily a norwood 2.5. Short on sides and back and layer back to front for more coverage. Good luck bro

finasteride or dutasteride, whatever you want. dutasteride is 20% more effective as far as the studies show

Careful listening to this advice. Make sure you do your research and see a doctor before rushing into anti-androgens. Can make you a sexual zombie if your susceptible to side effects.

I would go to a doctor, preferably a dermatologist so you can get the pros and cons. Also, don't shave your head like I did because it actually made my widows peak more apparent and I get comments all the time.

If you keep it long your forced to style it a certain way but if you shave it all off you get derogatory comments... it's a lose-lose scenario. Another thing you could do is lift weights every day and become buff as hell then shave your head and people won't bother you about it because buff guys look good bald anyways.

As for sexual side effects from finasteride... I'm on it religiously and haven't noticed any, I still perform the same as I did before as in lasting a long time and having a hard time with the finale if there is one at all...:uglylol:
