As the title says, I am 21 years old and have pretty aggressive hair-loss for my age.
in this post I have put pictures up highlighting the past 6 months using my treatments - http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/showthread.php/98619-21-Years-old-my-story-HELP

Due to my aggressive loss for my age I was thinking about hopping onto Dutasteride as I understand it blocks more DHT than finasteride.
I was wondering what you guys think, should I wait till i've reached a year on finasteride and then re-evaluate or hop on dutasteride now?
Obviously I know that I wont be able to regrow my temples but thickening in the frontal forelock and maybe gaining back a little on my temples where the vellus hairs are would be great.

I have experienced no sides on finasteride other than my erections possibly not being as hard (around 85%). I have had a constant itch since starting finasteride however and when I run my hands through my hair white flaky skin falls off of my scalp. I've tried nizoral for the past 2 months but still have the itch.

You can only do three things:

1. Take finasteride or dutasteride - there seems to be little difference in efficacy between these two.
2. Use minoxodil
3. Use ketoconazole

I would probably use LLLT as well, but only because it's not that expensive ($600 for decent unit) and it might help. I'm not convinced it works, but anecdotally some claim it helps, and if your hair loss is aggressive, the cost-to-payoff ratio is low. I wouldn't suggest PRP because not only am I not convinced it works, I have yet to read any positive review of it on the forums, and given the cost, the ROI is ridiculously low.

Thanks for replying!
Judging by the pictures on the other post, do you think i've seen any improvement off of finasteride and do you think I will experience any more improvement?
Would you say I stay on finasteride and wait out a year and see my gains/losses then? or go on dutasteride now and see if I can possibly get some gains which wouldn't be possible on finasteride?
I understand that dutasteride inhibits DHT more than finasteride does and considering that I haven't experienced any sides on finasteride would this be a good thing to do?
