Hi Everyone,

I am new here and really appreciate all the helpful info that can be found on this site. I recently noticed that I am beggining go lose hair, however this is not yet something someone else can notice. I could be overreacting, but I went out and bought Nizoral yesterday.
I notice some of you guys said that you'd like it if you weren't in the denial state and started your treatment earlier. I am wondering since I hope I cought this early enough, what it is I can do to keep what I have for at least few more years? I mean will Nizoral alone help me, or do I need to consider seeing my doctor and getting a prescription for something more serious?

Any advice is helpful since this is really starting to worry me.

Many people believe Nizoral would be most beneficial as a part of a threefold regimen people term as "the Big 3": Propecia (Finasteride), Minoxidil, and Nizoral. However, if you're looking to maintain only, then propecia and Nizoral are probably your best bet, since minoxidil is a regrowth treatment, and is in general a pain in the *** to use every day.

I'm not entirely sure whether Nizoral is an anti-androgen or an anti-fungal medication, but I do know that Propecia inhibits DHT production in the body, thus reducing the amount of follicles that bind to it. You need a script for Propecia BTW so you would have to go to your Doctor to get it.

Best of luck.

i'm 26 now and started noticing hairloss round my temples age 23 - nothing too bad. I didn't do much about it until recently when I thought it was becoming more visible and I was becoming a little thinner on top.

I'd just like to warn you that if you go and buy some special treatments you might experience severe shedding like I have that has made my hair appearance a million times worse in the few weeks i've been using it (Revivogen). Now I wish i'd never touched it, but who knows, this is supposedly a sign that it is working and you have to keep going with it.

Just giving you my experience there - there are many more educated people on here who could give better advice. But from my hair not looking too bad, it now looks pretty bad - and I was not mentally prepared for that! I wish i'd just bought some decent shampoo.
