When I was 17 I noticed I was loosing hair. At the time, I did some quick research on the internet, I found this product called Toppik. I got my hair color, and applied it. Back then my hair loss was very minimal, so, it worked perfectly, it was fantastic. I was very content with that, so I never worried about futher hairloss, was hoping it would stop as well. I was always consistant with using it, so, no one ever thought I was bald, always perceived me to have a full head of hair.
I've been in college since I was 18 years old. Now I'm almost 21, I've had the same girlfriend for well over a year now, so my grooming, house cleaning habits, and fitness level have all declined. For the past 12 months, I just didnt bother with styling my hair or anything, just rocked a hat or cap ALL the time. I feel my hair loss has progressed VERY rapidly over the past year. I don't know if it is mental, or if it is due to me always wearing something that covers my head. Either way, it happened.
Some genetic background: My father's hair loss pattern is THE EXACT same, so was his dad's. They lost their hair in their early 30's though. My other grandfather, don't know much about him, but he was bald too.
I don't have any before pictures I can access right now, I'm currently overseas and will continue be for another month. I also didn't bring a camera, but I have a camera phone. I always had my hair kind of long my entire life, but recently, I got sick of being bald so I shaved everything off, I figured that way, at least it looked like a choice. Growing it back has been painful, a lot of hat wearing again, as my thining is now past the help of Toppik now, I have no other choice really.
I'm losing my hair all in the front, though my hairline is holding up slightly better than what's behind it.
I'm open to anything at this point (transplant as well), though I don't really like medication/surgery. I see so many different regiments and methonds, I'm wondering what would be best for me. I'm not asking for you guys to be my doctor, but PLEASE guide me to the right type of doctor, medication, research, news, shampoo, whatever will help. I really really appreciate any responses to my story/plea.
