my 2 yr. old son just suddenly started losing his hair, very rapidly. His pediatrician diagnosed him with telogen effluvium. I've read that it's caused by a shock or stress to the body. My husband and I have thought and thought and can't come up with any reason that would cause this. My question is this... About 3 weeks before his hair started falling out he had his 1st round of Hep. A and chicken pox vaccine. I've NEVER heard of a vaccine causing such a thing, But it's the only thing that's happened to him. Has anyone ever heard of such a link?

weeks is way too short a time to impact your hair. Usually the trigger appeared 3 months earlier. This is because it takes about 3 months for the hair in anagen cycle to go into the telogen phase and fall out. Whatever happened to your kid happened at least 3 months before his hair fell out.

its gonna grow back...
