Second Month Completed.

First one and a half month : 1mg finasteride everyday.
Last two weeks : 1.25 mg every other day.

2% ketoconazole shampoo 2-3 times a week.

Multivitamin. Centrum A-Z

Hair Far Far Worse than 2 months ago.

Back and Sides thinned out. Hair has totally stopped growing as if its recieved some sort of shock from the treatment. Hair on the back used to be thick, now thin and vellus like.

So far: finasteride has thinned out my sides and back to match the top. No decrease in shedding whatsoever. Libido 25% as much as before.

wangho..i just read through your regimen...

50 mg zinc?...couldnt that prove to be harmful?.. isnt there a certain limit for taking iron and zinc etc?...i think its around 18 mg or so.

yeah i'm gonna keep up with my regimen another month. if the shedding persists i'm gonna ditch the b**ch...cause shedding on treatment for 3 months is not normal. and i dont know why its thinned out the hair on the sides and back of my head. i never lost a hair from that region before.

i'm going to treat myself for a slightly elevated TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) of 4.3 .. i'm told a TSH above 3 needs treatment according to new guidelines. i also have ridges on my fingernails, pale eyes. and the lunala..or the white moon thats at the base of the fingernail..i have none of those..hardly one or two.

anyway..best of luck to you..i'd recheck the zinc dosage.

couldn't be. Because that's just half the pill and plus the 15 mg I get from the multivitamin

wait a sec...what is this your taking for the thyroid? I may like to try some just in case. Something else to maybe throw into the regimen.

you really are playing about with medication arent you. you seriously do not wanna mess around with hormone replacement therapy unless you have the symptoms of a messed up thyroid and go through the tests first.

if you do have the symptoms..go for a thryoid test...mainly..

TSH, total t3, total t4, FREE t3, FREE t4 and Antibodies to rule out hashimotos.

until then dont self prescribe any medication. i really think you're overdoing it with the zinc , it could mess up your system more than help it. you should reconfirm the dosage.

I agree. Don't self-treat thyroid - at the very least do it under the supervision of an endo. Have you had your T3/T4 tested?

yes guys, I know to take proper pre-cautions with all these things in light of my seemingly care-free 'just throw at it' attitude. I have read up on thyroid and I do meet a good bit of the symptoms, however.

Again, one Zinc tablet is 50 MG. There is 15 MG in my multivitamin. If im taking 1/2 of one Zinc tablet and getting 15 MG from the multi, that equals 40 MG of Zince I am getting daily.

I don't think Zinc would come in 50 MG capsules to be sold on the market, if it was that dangerous. 15 MG is the MINIMUM dosage required and over 100 MG forms toxicity.

I realize that Zinc is found in a person's diet, but I am a pretty light eater as well as there not being any huge amounts found any foods. Very small amounts of Zinc is found in a serving.
