Hi, This is my first post after lurking through the forums for a brief period of time. I'm really worried about my hair and the health of it. I'm not extremely worried about receding hair life or balding as my mothers side of the family has a good hairline and my father has a decent head of hair for his age, but I am receding a bit on the temples. But my main problem is that my hair seems to fall out easily which worries me.. I know that it's normal to lose around 100 hairs in a day but I can just rub though my head softly and see a bunch of strands on my palm.. This could be a result of my diet but I generally eat well, I get alot of protein in my system, I take my vitamins, take biotin, eat my greens and exercise so I really don't know(Maybe the diet coke? jk) I also had some bad dandruff/scalping this past month which was horrifying but it's over.

So I have a bunch of questions
1) How can I improve my scalp and hair health and fix the problems like I mentioned? Should I worry?
2) Is there any good shampoo's that are affordable that can help in hair growth and stop receding hair line? I have used the Suave Daily Thickening Shampoo but I think that may be the problem..
3) How bad is gelling for the hair? This past year I have gelled my hair alot and I think that can be part of the problem although I haven't gelled my hair for the past month. Are there any gels that are healthy for the hair?
4) What are the best ways to reverse or slow down receding hair lines?
5) This is going to be hard to explain but here goes nothing. On the right top side above the template my hair used to be straight but now in the past year it has changed and it has becomed curved, curving in the direction of the right side of my head.. Any reason?

I'm sorry for my long post but I just couldn't find any help as it seems that all the threads are personal stories. Any help would be good!!

u might be going to a mature hairline. sometimes that is the start of male pattern hair loss other times a person will go to a mature hair line and stay there for the rest of their lives.

shampoo's that contain Ketoconazole (like nozoral) might help your hair.

'Although the effects of ketoconazole on 5a-R have been documented, the authors of the study concluded that the benefits were attributed to its effects on fungal scalp infections in genetically predisposed individuals. They argued that Androgenetic Alopecia has a multifactorial pathogenesis with an inflammatory reaction caused by a Malassezia fungal infection. It was concluded that ketoconazole was therapeutic by reducing inflammation through its anti-inflam- matory properties and by clearing the adjacent fungal infection.'

i doubt gelling is bad for hair.
i have heard of healthy gels/ styling creams but users said they didn't like them

have a look at photos of yourself in previous years - does it look like your hair is losing colour / or the hair shaft getting thinner ?

Thanks for the quick response, I really appreciate it.

I never thought I may have a maturing hairline, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I do notice a really small part of my hair becoming lighter and the right side of my head like previously mentioned is becoming a bit thinner.

Thanks for bringing the attention of Ketoconazole but I don't think it's for me. I think I'm just going to get a Herbal shampoo or a biotin shampoo, have you had any success with these?

Again thanks!

That's what I thought. Are there any shampoos or hair treatment products that assist in helping stop receding hair lines or hair growth that don't contain chemicals that can be harmful for the body? And preferably not to expensive(although I'm certain they are)?
