Hello everyone, lemme just give you a quick background of my case. I was mid 17 when I first noticed that i’m losing hair due to my genetics *my dad is bald, and also some of my uncles*. By that time, it was very slow and unnoticeable hair loss that i thought i shouldn’t care about. I am now 19, almost two years and I would pay fortune to just stop my hair from thinning.

I went to a dermatologist and he told me about both Finasteride and Minoxidil, the two FDA approved medication. He was first hesitant when it came to prescribing Finasteride for me *bc side effects* and he told me to do a whole month research on both medications, choose either, and then he would do the prescribtion.

My questions are:
1- to what extent could my hair be saved if i start taking finasteride?
2- Does Nizoral really help?
3- I have already decided to use finasteride instead of minoxidil, but is there a reason that i should use it alongside finasteride?
4- can finasteride thicken hair?

I know finasteride is a treatment not a cure, but i really want to keep my hair till 23-24 at least.

I have attached some pics!

You're not too late at all, get on finasteride to keep your hair and possibly thickening it up a little. You're still at the stage of the game where only hair loss neckbeards like myself and my fellow posters here would notice it.
