Hi there,

I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I will try and keep this as concise as possible. About a month ago, I started to notice that the hair on the back of my head felt a bit thinner. Also when I'm outside, it sometimes feels a little bit sensitive/itchy. I've asked my Mother and girlfriend whether I am losing my hair and they have both said no although I don't think they would tell me straight either way. If any more pictures are required I will gladly take them. This is the sort of patch that I have come to notice, I'm not sure if it's part of my hair line or something else.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this post :) Please be as honest as possible though.

Thank you for the super fast response! So do you think it is my hair line? I can take more pictures if you need to confirm.

Sorry for the late respond. had to get to school again.

I discussed it with my brother and we both agreed that the best way to be sure if your hair is really thinning it would be to take pictures everyday and to count how much hair you lose in the shower for example. If you really think that you are losing your hair I can give you some suggestion for possible treatments.

Ow and please don't get paranoid about this because it really looks fine and if the patch becomes bigger that means it is alopecia aretea and I heard PRP works wonders for that. You don't want to let hair loss take over your life trust me.

Thanks for the replies, sorry been busy with work. It's just a bit worrying, I find myself thinking about it more than I probably should.

Doesn't seem like the strongest light or is that just my imagination?
Because that kind of visibility on your scalp could be bad..
You aren't receding on the sides then, because you didn't take any pictures of them?

It looks normal to me in those photos. Doesn't look like you are losing hair in the crown area. However, the lighting isn't the strongest so it's difficult to make a completely accurate assessment of any crown loss you may have. Is there hair loss in your family background? Did your dad go bald young? What about your uncles and each grandfather?

OP you need to find a mirror on a wall, and stand behind it with a mirror in ur hand. You need to find the part in ur cowlick, and u need to separate the hairs yourself. You will know straight away whether some hair or not is thinner.

I am guessing you have 0 miniturization because I used to worry about the same thing until i looked myself in the mirror and compared hair texture from the inner cow lick to the hair just outside of it.
