18 and beginning of hair loss?

I first noticed that my hair might be receding when I walked out the shower and my nephew commented on how my temples were receded back. My brother is 30 and beginning to go completely bald, he buzz-cuts his hair very short and has hair in the middle of his head. My dad has a full head of hair at 60. Is there anything I can try to halt any further hair loss so I don't begin really losing hair like my brother like he did at mid 20's. I'm just going into uni and I really don't want to recede further while I'm there for 4 years.

Can you get some better pics, preferably without your hand in the way and from a wider angle and maybe more light?

In any case, if you're concerned that you're hair is receding, you should take monthly pics in order to monitor the situation. There are some things you can do in order to stop it if you are losing hair, like get on Finasteride and shampoo with Ketoconazole in it (e.g. Nizoral), but hopefully that's not the case.

i recommend oral Finasteride 1 mg once daily and topical minoxidil 1ml twice daily

The hair loss isn't bad, why does he have to jump on Monix? That should be up to him, right, if he wants to maintain or regrow? No point taking more things than you have/want to IMO.

See a hair specialist, get them to check for miniaturisation, and if it is occurring, then get on finasteride and monitor your progress every few months. You do not need minoxidil.
