17 years old, is it time for a buzzcut?

I've always had a high hairline but recently I have noticed it getting worse.. Now it's slanted and I always wear hats. Do you guys think I should buzz it off whilst I'm young? I don't know why this is happening so early. I have been able to grow facial hair since the age of about 12 and I am very hairy. What could be causing this, is it just genetics?

(My dad is bald but cannot grow much facial hair)

No mate do the opposite - grow it out. Your hair is healthy and will look good once styled.

I've grown my hair out on the top since I noticed bad receding.

It helps so much man. I'm a 1-2 guard on the sides and scissor cut up top. Prob 1.5 inches. With it brushed forward people rarely notice the recession. That length on top is also good for masking the diffuse thinning that will inevitably come for you as well.

Grow it out. Keep sides short and maybe swipe the top to cover up the hairline. To be honest though, people your age will not even think you are balding at this point. Live it up.

I'm going to echo the rest of the posts. You have plenty of hair and are a good looking kid. Try growing the top out more and sweeping the bangs towards your left-hand side; keep the facial hair. You're going to get more *** than a toilet seat.

I'd also add you would look okay with a buzz, so one day when it comes to that it should be no problem for you.
