Hi all, I'm 17 years old and for some reason (this year) my hairline has started to recede quite frantically. I have not had much stress at all in my life and as of recently this whole hair thing has became something I'm now quite conscious about, obviously worrying isn't going to make it any better but I'm just wondering if I have any options at this point? A couple of people on here have told me to grow it out.. Is there anyone on here who has had a shaved head from a youngish age?

Would love to hear any thoughts!

Cheers

Looks like one of your temples is shooting backwards or you got a real bad haircut no offense. Do you have any pictures of your hairline at a younger age? You are still dense elsewhere growing it out could cover the recession so it might help in the meantime. If it's male pattern baldness you probably want to hop on minoxidil first then wait till your 18 to get on finasteride.

Tell us your father, paternal grandfather and maternal grandfather balding patterns, and provide photos of the vertex, with flash. It just seems like you have a bad haircut.

I'm 17 and I'm balding in a similar pattern though worse I believe. My hair also isn't very thick naturally so it looks bad. I started min about 8 months ago and finasteride a month ago. I've grown a lot of Vellus hairs but hope the finasteride strengthen thems
