Hi, I'm a 17 year old who is already experiencing a receding hairline. (Temple hair almost completely gone and now in an M or V shape).. I'm a bit worried about it because I'm so young and 2 of my uncles are pretty bald. That said, my grandparents, father, and my other two uncles aren't bald. I have 3 uncles on my moms side and 2 are balding while the other just has a receded hairline. I'm pretty sure my dads side doesn't have much, if any, balding. I'd just like to get some thoughts on what my chances are of going bald. It may also help to know that my hair is more like my fathers and that my uncles that are bald didn't start balding or receding when they were in high school. I would've put pictures up but I'm not sure how... Any thoughts and tips are appreciated. Thanks!

If you have bald uncles, then there are baldness genes in the family. I'm sure they looked at their father (grandfather) and thought, well he isn't bald, so i won't go bald either! It can skip multiple generations, affect one sibling but not another. Best thing you can do is go see a specialist and get yearly check ups for miniaturisation so that you can take preventative action. Good luck, never assume that you got the good genes just because your father/grandfather did!
