i cannot believe i would have to worry about this early as i am, i’ve been worrying about hairloss for three years now nearly since 14 and my hairline hasn’t changed but i feel my hair isn’t as thick as it once was, and tbh i don’t actually know if i’m balding because my hair is a whole lot longer then before but i’m not sure, my scalp is visible all the time but not to a horrible extent. i just don’t wanna worry anymore even if i am, whay can i do

What is your lifestyle? Do you do sports, go to gym and/or take any supplements for this like creatine protein powder etc? I'm asking as the trend for this was huge when I was your age and its even bigger now for young people. And all these things can drastically increase DHT especially during late teens when you are already seeing a natural increase in testosterone. In general aerobic moderate cardio can reduce and control DHT, and anaerobic heavy weight lifting exercises AND intense repeated cardio can increase DHT.

16 is far to early to consider blocking your primary male hormone DHT with drugs. People will argue the earlier the better, but they only work for some and have undeniable factual side effects for just as many if not more people.

Imo with 20 years experience on these forums and having tried the big 3 and everything 'natural' under the sun having battled similar diffuse thinning - its far better to control DHT by NOT increasing it with lifestyle choices than to jump straight onto meds to try and block it, especially at 16.

Regarding minoxidil, didn't work for me, but apparently works to some extent for 2 out of 3 people, then your on it for life or risk a huge shed and being far worse than if you hadn't touched the stuff. Maybe worth considering at some point in next few years but not at 16 imo.

Control DHT by not increasing it, and having a good diet including fresh leafy vegetables, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds. Try and incorporate cardio if you don't already and get outside as much as possible to increaee overall oxygen levels in body and on scalp. Dont overwash your hair, once or twice a week is more than enough. Increase magnesium intake and maybe even try micro dosing saw palmetto.

That said if you have genes predisposed to rapid male pattern baldness maybe my advise is not the solution, but judging by your pictures and your age with my experience I would edge on the side of caution for at least the next few years.

You know your hair best, ignore what other People say. My family thought i wasnt balding for years but I was and got on treatments. If you feel that your hair isnt as thick anymore or you see more scalp than usuall then you know you are losing your hair. I have a friend who started balding at age 12. Hes totally bald now at 25.
