I've been thinning since I was 12 and now it's pretty bad. Not noticeable at first sight, but pretty bad once you notice.
At first, I noticed I could see the left side of my scalp while showering, then I noticed the right side was, too.

Didn't give it much thought until a classmate pointed out to me that I was going bald.
After that, I tried going to a dermatologist, but I lacked time and hospitals here are really crowded, so time just flew by this 3 years.
My head had been quite itchy and flaky, so I assumed it was Seborrhea. Got a shampoo with ketoconazole, hair isn't itchy anymore and some hair has regrown(I think), but I don't think it has been consistent.

Now, the left side of my head is incredibly thin, as well as my crown.

Would anyone be kind enough to give me some advice or suggest a treatment, please?

Post pictures, that sounds like an unusual case. Due to your age, and the description of your hairloss, I'd guess that there is another cause, that it's not male pattern baldness. It may be diet (lack of Iron, vitamins or protein), it may be extreme seborrheic dermatitis or it could be telogen effluvium. The fact that it's growing back i places is a good sign.

Excuse the mess...

I'm not sure, but I think my hairline is receding a bit... Maybe it's just overall thinning, but I've always had a high and round shaped forehead so it just makes it look worse

To be honest, I'm not really sure if it has actually regrown, all I know is that since I got a ketoconazole based shampoo, I've been feeling better and thin hairs have gotten thicker.

I was actually thinking about buying some supplements, because I *might* have a nutritional problem. Although I eat a lot, I'm Taiwanese so cuisine is very different from western cuisine , and I might be getting less "hair boosting nutrients?"

About my digestive system, I believe it's quite messed up, I used to have solid and clean chunks, now it's watery and hard to clean.
I'm quite confident that I've got parasites, it's just that they're amusingly hard to get rid of. Especially considering where I live (Bolivia), I eat out a lot, due to lack of time and every time I finish a treatment and am clean, I eat out and well...
I'm living in a rural area, and I've checked almost every store out here and haven't seen one with decent hygiene regulations.

As to how my hair used to be: It was the typical Asian straight hair, the difference was that it was incredibly soft and had them in great amounts, always stayed down.
Somehow, now my hair is a little curly (like my dad's), and rough. I think it's getting thicker(as in individual hair) with ketoconazole but I'm not sure I've been seeing regrowing hair.

You need to go see a doctor, get your health on track and then focus on your hairloss. And stop eating garbage.

I suppose I need to go to a doctor and ask about my digestive problem. But, I have to point out that this past years I've been exercising and eating a lot of vegetables, meat, etc. Yet I still had hair loss.
Although now, my habits have become worse, but somehow I feel my hair has been feeling a lot better since I started using a ketoconazole based shampoo. So, I think it perhaps isn't necessarily about my nutrition or health habits.

You are only 15, so your options are limited. You could add minoxidil to your regiment. Get some biotin and zinc supplements. Eat enough of proteins. Any history of hairloss in your family?

This is very unusual, maybe you should post on hair restoration network instead? They have hair loss specialists and surgeons who regularly frequent the board. Your case is just spo unusual, I don't think it could possibly be that much male pattern baldness at your age... It must be a health/diet thing...

listen to the wise men

Listen to these guys Mickey. They are extremely experienced and capable helping you navigate thru this overwhelming field of hair loss. You are undeniably the most assertive and independent 15 year old I've encountered in a long time. Although I am saddened to learn about your experience, I have no future concerns that your intelligence and diligence will not award you tons of success in all aspects of your maturing life.:sun:

My dad seems to have his hair almost intact, no receding hairline visible, but his crown is just a tiny little bit thinner than the rest of his hair.
My mother has always shed lots of hair, I've noticed in the bathroom sink and her hair brushes. Her hair is thin, but all this years it seems it has maintained its volume.
My half-brother is fine, haven't seen any entries on his hair and only has a slightly receded hairline.

Thank you for the recommendation, I'll try posting there.

Thank you for the support, it raised my hopes considerably :) .

Also, I'll try to make some time to go to the doctor next time I visit the city. I believe there aren't many specialists around this "village", hospitals are mostly filled with general doctors, so I'll try in the city.

Additionally, if anyone else could possibly have a clue to what is causing my hair loss, please mention it. I don't think I'll visit the city anytime soon, thus I might have to get some "hair loss retardants" for the time being.

Thanks.

Only thing that would help this guy to stop or reverse the loss without any side effects would CB-03-1 in a WORKING vehicle. Otherwise, finasteride is a very dangerous solution. Eventhough RU58841 is as effective, I'd be hesitant to suggest that too since it has similar side effects as a topical DHT inhibitor considering it can go systemic.

Baldness really is a disgusting disease... Micky, I hope you dont have to go through what we've gone through. Just hope Dr. Jahoda's stem cell findings to create follicles will make it to a commercial product soon.

Thanks for the sentiment. :)

Anyway, I was thinking about all this, and then it something came into my mind.
I think my hair loss might not be only limited to my scalp. It might have been a mix of seborrhea with some (hormone imbalance?)
Long time ago, I used to have really thick hair on my arms and legs, but was quite "curious" and shaved my arms, then shaved a little part of my leg.
The hairs in my arms regrew, but were very thin, and the shaved part of my leg has been a "bald spot" until now. Only around 1 or 2 hairs grew from there.
I think it's a little weird, my facial hair (beard and moustache) is pretty thick but it doesn't have much volume.
My armpits don't have much hair, either.
And I'm sorry if this is somehow inappropriate, but my pubic hair has been pretty thick and abundant.
I just wanted to point it out, so it would narrow down the possible causes.

By the way, I also was losing hairs of my eyebrows, but that was indeed seborrhea.

Sofia, I'm curious to understand what benefits you or someone else you know achieved from emu oil and if you care to share the scientific studies you may be familiar with that support these results. Much appreciated.

Thank you all for the responses.

It's been almost a month already, and I still haven't gone to the city to get a checkup. Anyway, I got a powder supplement and have been taking it for about a week or so...
Individual hair is a lot thicker than before, not sure if there's actually more hair, though.
I've always had an unusually high forehead, but I've been seeing some hairs sprouting around my hairline, some are pretty long, perhaps I had a receded hairline?
Body hair a lot thicker as well.

I've finally found something that is improving the state of my hair. I hope I can regain back all my hair...

Again, thank you very much for you support.
