hi guys,
i'm a long time reader, first time poster. i just finished a year on the big 3 (1mg finasteride per day, 5% minoxidil 2x per day, nizoral 3x per week). i have been able to slow the loss down (diffuse), and increase the thickness of the hair i have, but i'm still losing ground.
i definitely plan on keeping with all 3 of these treatments, but i want to add something else to see if i can't slow the loss down any more, or hopefully even regrow something.
i've done a ton of reading but i'm still not sure exactly what the best next step would be for my circumstanes.
i'm thinking my best bets are revivogen and/or spironolactone to lower dht in the scalp, and tricomin and/or dr. lee's 15% minoxidil to try to grow some hair back.
any thoughts, suggestions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Hey man.

Post some pics if you can, these will help those so inclined to advise you better.

Keep at it. I’m over 2.5 years down the track on finasteride (1.25 mg/day), minoxidil (1.5ml once/day) and nizoral 2% (twice/wee) and have managed to maintain. I can’t say I’ve had any real regrowth but I think I’ve given myself 2.5 years of hairfulness I would otherwise not have had and it’s still undetectable after I’ve styled it.

If you’re looking to add something in to your regimen, I’d suggest a good copper peptide solution for starters. Perhaps Tricomin or American Crew peptides which will reduce inflammation of your scalp and extend the growth phase of your hair. If you’re really lucky you’ll be one of the small percentage to get regrowth.

Revivogen is something I’m thinking of adding into my regimen as it is a topical anti DHT / alpha-reductase agent (Bryan – don’t start!). I want to try it out for about a year to see if it helps when used in addition to finasteride. However, the main problem is working it into a regimen where minoxidil is already used as each are meant to stay on for hours! I might have to start using some quick drying minoxidil in the morning and Revivogen at night… which would then lead to styling problems in the morning… oh well… will cross that bridge when I come to it!

Anyway, there’s also the Lasercomb which may be of some use and a whole host of other purported aids like spironolactone, MSM, dutasteride if you’re really struggling. You have the basic foundations for good success with your regimen so anything else you add in will just be a bonus.

My advice, stick at it, keep your dosages consistent and as without fail as possible, eat well, live well and keep that outlook positive.

I have thought about your situation for several years, and what I would do if and when I ever get there. My personal approach would be as follows:

For you I would at this point say Tricomin. You are already doing quite enough to attack this from a "DHT" standpoint. If you are concerned Propecia isn't enough, you MIGHT consider Revivogen once a day, or Topical spironolactone twice a day.

Its a tough decision but I would opt for Tricomin and nothing else ... give it 10 months ... see how you are doing.
