Re: Vikings1234's Story - ( 26/ propecia only) -4months update
yeah the initial month there was a shed
Then around the 3 month mark there was a shed, but after that one it was almost like instantly my hair felt better not really a noticeable shed as opposed to small hairs.
The itch and...
Re: Vikings1234's Story - ( 26/ propecia only) -4months update
yeah my hair quality has felt so much better for a few months now. Literally felt like a brittle crunchy mess before I started propecia.
Other changes are no dairy(see posts about scalp acne).
Looking fwd to 2 years from now...
Re: Libertad01's Story (21-no regimen, just 1% Nizoral)
we all feel your anxieties :)
Just hop on propecia and see where you land in a year or two, bout all you can do. Or rogaine , or both. But propecia is the DHT blocker
I have always been lactose intolerant, and my allergy seems to have gotten worse with age. I noticed my scalp was getting pimples, and when i stopped dairy they went away. After 2-3 weeks with no pimples I had some dairy and the next day broke out. Now their may be no cause and effect here...
I as well found nizoral too harsh on my scalp, dried the heck out of my hair but made my scalp all red and inflamed.
I use capasaul which has coal tar and it has been a god send
Re: 22 years old, hairline starting to recede. On minoxidil...
no minoxidil is also FDA approv(only Propecia and minoxidil), depends on what you are looking to do. Some take 1 or both.
Re: 22 years old, hairline starting to recede. On minoxidil...
at this point there is no clinical studies officially that prove this. Propecia is the only FDA approved hairloss dht blocker. If I am being honest, forget all that other stuff, get propecia. Period.
Re: 22 years old, hairline starting to recede. On minoxidil...
my sheds were not that noticeable, I have always kept my hair short and can style it that it wasn't a huge issue. My thinning is mostly in my crown too, I would use a little bit of dermmatch to help just a bit.
Shedding is going...
Re: 22 years old, hairline starting to recede. On minoxidil...
yes, you should if you think it is something you want to add to your regimen
Unfortunately even some derms aren't as smart on certain subjects. If he doesn't give it to you then go to another till they do(if you have male pattern baldness that is...
Re: 22 years old, hairline starting to recede. On minoxidil...
maybe minoxidil will grow back for you but ultimately if you have male pattern baldness minoxidil isn't going to win or slow down that war on its own.
No it is not a myth, less then 2% of users or something experience side effects. Most do not.
Re: 22 years old, hairline starting to recede. On minoxidil...
you should hop on propecia that is the only thing that is going to block the DHT attacking your hair follicles and possibly hault/slowdown/grow back hair
Re: Vikings1234's Story - ( 26/ propecia, nizoral only)
4 months on propecia and using a coal tar shampoo has both got ride of my pimples on scalp. My hair has never felt healthier and I am very very optimistic for a year from now
I also quit dairy nearly 100% as I believe I have a food...
Yeah you have pretty aggressive hair loss if you do nothing it will be gone prob in a few years it looks(of course no one can know for sure). I would hop on propecia and rogaine immediately you never know how well you might respond.
You have a good shape head though for shaving it
