Time To Start Finasteride Before It's Too Late?

Everyone, thank you for your responses. I started finasteride today, along with restarting minoxidil drops and ketoconazole. Regrowth would be nice, but if I can keep what I have now, I'll be plenty happy with that - it doesn't look nearly as bad when I'm not deliberately pulling it back to show...

Time To Start Finasteride Before It's Too Late?

Oh, I get what you mean. The only reason I put any stock in it is that it was always unprompted - I'd never asked them how my hair was, it was just something I'd be told fairly frequently during haircuts, ever since I was a child.

Time To Start Finasteride Before It's Too Late?

I was actually told quite recently that my hair is very thick - or, more accurately, "You have a lot of hair" is the comment I always get from stylists. I think the last time I was told that was a few months ago - five at most.

Time To Start Finasteride Before It's Too Late?

That I don't know, unfortunately. I'm adopted, and I'm not in contact with any blood relatives. I got some finasteride from an online pharmacy (I didn't take them giving me a prescription as necessarily meaning I needed it, since the pictures I sent them were with wet hair, and, you know, they...

I probably should have put that in my initial post, sorry. I'm 31.

Does that hairline thinning indicate I should be starting finasteride, or should I only worry once I hit NW2?

I added a new picture (third down) to show the degree of recession on my left side, and two at the bottom of the post to show what I'm pretty sure is miniaturization all across my hairline. Again, I realize this could just be me obsessing, but is that really just a 1.5-ish?

Time To Start Finasteride Before It's Too Late?

Good evening, everyone. I posted here a few months ago, and the general response was that I was probably a Norwood 1.5 to 2. That calmed me down for a while, but tonight I took a look at my profile and... well, I don't like what I see. I've never been good at applying the Norwood Scale...

Is This Really Not male pattern baldness? I'm Still Unsure

Very belated, but thank you for the response. Any other opinions? If it really is nothing, I'm sorry for being one of those people who come on here and stress over it. It's a lot easier to be objective about someone else than yourself, after all, and, again, I've never quite been able to...

Is This Really Not male pattern baldness? I'm Still Unsure

A few days ago I made a post regarding some worries I had over the finasteride "horror" stories, with some pictures of my hair. A majority of the responses I got were people telling me that I wasn't actually balding. To those of you who answered, thank you. I felt a lot better for a few days...

    Lurker Finally Posts; Finasteride Anxiety

Just out of curiosity, this is my hairline pulled back so you can see what I'm worried about more clearly - the fact that the hair is finer in the front and for a short distance into my hairline, especially around that sort of "reverse widow's peak"-looking area in the middle - where the hair is...

    Lurker Finally Posts; Finasteride Anxiety

1.5? Are you sure? It's hard for me to tell, what with having always had a high hairline, and I've never quite been able to correlate my hair to the Norwood scale. I am pretty sure, however, that I can see more scalp along my hairline than anywhere else if I make a "fake" hairline there (by...

    Lurker Finally Posts; Finasteride Anxiety

Good morning, all. I'm just shy of 31, and I've recently come to the conclusion that I've been denying my receding hairline long enough. For reference, the top picture, though admittedly of poor quality (even as a kid I wasn't fond of having my picture taken) is meant to show that I've always...
