I'm quite sure the chart you are showing is for oral finasteride, not topical; it also omits the placebo which is misleading. Here is the full chart - serum DHT reduction with 0.01mg oral finasteride is not clinically significant compared to placebo:
I don't agree with everything he says but I think that video is on point. It seems oral minoxidil is all the rage nowadays - people are recommending it left and right online and I think it is irresponsible. If people understand the risks and still decide to take it then fine, but I think many...
If you are using foam minoxidil, switching to liquid should help since propylene glycol is a skin irritant and will allow for better absorption. Adding tretinion or retinol will also help even more.
I wouldn't use derma rolling as a method to increase absorption.
0.5mg is not a small dose - even if only 10% gets absorbed that will be sufficient to accumulate over time and suppress serum DHT by ~50%. If someone experiences sides on oral finasteride and they want to avoid sides with topical finasteride, I would say that 0.1mg should be the upper limit.
Your situation seems to be very complex/unique - it seems to be a combination of AA plus something else (DUPA? Telogen Effluvium?). Have you recently gone to a dermatologist to see if they can determine if you have dermatitis or some other skin condition? I would try to resolve any skin condition you may...
Yes I saw the study's on male hair but I was specifically referring to the fact that it was shown to slow aging and improve metabolic parameters in mice/rats.
Its interesting that ERβ is the dominant one in the scalp...then it seems alfatradiol is a better choice than estriol.
Thanks for...
I had written off alfatradiol (and was considering estriol) based on the video from MPMD, but this study would invalidate his argument (at least to an extent - estriol still has over twice the RBA to ERβ compared to ERα).
It may not be a bad idea to add alfatradiol to the stack. It also helps...
If you buy the bottle of denatured ethyl alcohol from the pharmacy, check the back and it will say not to use longer than 1 week. I don't think its safe to use long term.
Just buy a bottle of Everclear for $20, it should last you for several years.
