Please rate my hairline from 1-10. What Norwood am I? Will Rogaine fuzz turn terminal

Hard to tell from those pics but you look like an average NW2 with maybe a maturing hairline. Your hair looks fine anyway and it's fairly thick so it doesn't look like you're balding at all.

Before Hairloss, was your hairline low or high?

I was never a NW1 even as a kid. At best I was a Norwood 1.5. I think there is a connection between a thin/high hairline when you're young and baldness. It's rare you'd see someone who is a Norwood 1 with thick hair go bald at a young age.

A few questions about male pattern baldness

Your hair looks fine BulletFrost, I don't seee any male pattern baldness there. At least wait to see does it get any worse before you start using finasteride.

17 year old with Norwood 3

I was also a NW3 at 17. I got Sebhorriec Dermatitis when I was 16 and this caused a crazy amount of shedding, and accelerated my male pattern baldness. Do you have any kind of skin condition eg. Dermatitis, Eczema etc.? I would go to your doctor, which is what I should have done, and have him take a look because...

    TheLastHairbender's story

Congratulations, that is some amazing regrowth in such a short space of time. Whatever your doing don't stop because it's certainly working. :bravo: I have a question for you about finasteride. Have you had any side effects so far from it? Also did you wean onto it or did you just start...

RE: Seborrheic dermatitis and androgenic alopecia

In relation to the hair he's lost from seborrhiec dermatitis the propecia may not be any use. It sounds to me like he's lost the hair from pulling it out and he may not have male pattern baldness

RE: Seborrheic dermatitis and androgenic alopecia

@awtaney, the exact same thing happened to me over the last few years. I had dry flaky skin on my scalp and when i tried to remove it, hair was coming out with it. I use nizoral and t-gel shampoo which has completely gotten rid of the flaky stuff. I dont know if the hairloss is permanent or not...

I'm 19, and about Norwood 2.5 - 3 so thats too advanced surely to be a mature hairline. What would be my best bet for treatment ? Im already on nizoral and thinking of adding minoxidil/finasteride ?

    Help a newbie, fairly depsperate.

Receding89 wats up glad to here your starting on Rogaine. I know you probably dont want to here it but Propecia or some kind of DHT blocker is really essential if you want to fight hairloss. If you dont you will eventually lose any gains you make from the rogaine. You could try weaning on the...

@Receding89 As far as I know you need a visa card to buy from that site so that could be the problem. Also make sure they ship to Ireland because some of those online pharmacies dont ship here. Im in Ireland too and im trying to find a pharmacy that ships here , I havent found one so far...

Thanks for the reply man . I know what you mean about scratching . Its impossible not to ! The nizoral though I find great for relieving itchiness. Im also about to start using t-gel. I hear thats good for loosening the dry skin on the scalp. Once I have my Dermatitis reasonably under...
