I'm going bald?! :( What norwood am I?

Could be a maturing hairline forming. Could be the way you’re parting it. I would be careful asking questions such as these to a bunch of strangers, particularly in a highly neurotic, anxious and insecure environment such as a hair loss forum. before you go down the rabbit hole of madness, take...

My Zix Experience - How B6 And Zinc Have Saved My Hair

Okay, so update for anyone who reads this in the future. Zix isn't drying my hair, I had just been shampooing my hair too much. I came to realise haven't really lost much hair, but since starting zix I have definitely found regrowth of baby hairs all along my hairline. Hard to tell if it's zix...

My Zix Experience - How B6 And Zinc Have Saved My Hair

Won't the zinc sulfate be drying our hair out? I've been on zix for a month or two and my hair is pretty dry. Sulfate dries hair out when found in shampoo. It would make sense that sulfate in the zinc is doing the same thing. Especially since we use it TWICE a day! Any thoughts on this? @Pigeon...

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

Thanks mate, appreciate it. As I said, I'm fortunate enough to be super early in this process, and it doesn't seem to be massively rapid or aggressive in those relatives who did go bald. So if I can keep my hair for another 15-20 years, there's probably going to be a lot more treatment wise I...

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

Wow - there really are two camps here. Thanks for all the input anyone. Is it just the oral finasteride that's causing the damage, or can topical finasteride give sides as well? What about saw palmetto? @TomRiddle I'd like to hear your thoughts in particular.

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

Agreed, but I can look both ways when crossing the road, I can drive slower, there are factors that reduce the risk of the truck getting me. With finasteride, it's down to pure chance that I can't control. Besides, there's other alternatives I can take with much less risk. I think I owe it to myself to...

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

It's HUGELY tempting to take finasteride. PFS is a much worse scenario than going bald, however, and by not taking finasteride I'm eliminating the worst outcome entirely. I'm aware the risk may be small, but I'd be constantly worried about the sides every day of taking finasteride. Plus, I'd be afraid to stop. Stoked...

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

Agreed, with that philosophy, everything is an unknown. I can't send links right now, but I found the article with a fairly quick google search. It's pretty damning for Merck. My issue is, the risk DOES exist. Merck have more reason to lie about their products than people do to warn others...

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

The thing is - I'm not convinced by the studies. Who's to say they're conclusive or accurate? I've seen this video. It's hugely persuasive. Has no one read the Reuters article?

That's good for you. I just can't bring myself to take that risk.

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

Did you not go on finasteride due to fear of sides? The sides are why I won't go on it.

What Do You Wish You Did At The Start Of Your Hair Loss Journey?

Hi everyone, Brand new member here. 25 y/o, Perhaps just at the very start of my own hair loss journey. I've always had very fine hair, but lots of it. However, I suspect the writing is on the wall. So I come to you looking for the gift of hindsight. What do you wish you had done at the very...
