Usual story it came w/hairloss, goes away on finasteride but can't handle the sides. I figured nizoral was my only hope. I think for me there is also a mental component.

Hey all, My brother started finasteride recently; I myself couldn't handle the sides. He has been complaining about dry, red eyes after only like... 3 days? Is this an initial side effect that might fade away? Or is this going to be long-term. Cheers

How did you end up treating it? Exercise helps but it definitely runs in my family and I haven't found a great solution.

Thanks man I think a break is a good idea. I have a hypothesis that my estrogen levels 'spiked' up due to the new drug + I was also eating like crap for a week or two = fat goes into breasts. I'm thinking I see what it looks like in a month w/no finasteride, go back on a low dose, and if it comes back...

Yeah I hear you. Could be a number of things, including stress. I'm going to stop finasteride for now so I can get some baseline blood tests and confirm I am 'normal' going in to give myself some peace of mind. Thx for the rationality!

I take your point -- but it's a bit weird right? I'm really just wondering if anyone else has experienced it. I have read that the prostate puts pressure on the urethra (allowing you to 'cut off' the flow of urine), and therefore reducing the size could cause the issue of uncontrolled urine flow.

Err ok. Hard to be in my head that my underwear gets urine in it right?
