I finally went to Sallys to deal with fading hair. I did the same thing you did, brought a lock of hair and told the chick I wanted to match that color. The only wrinkle is I forgot hairpieces tend to suck up the color aggressively and it comes out darker than planned, and that is what...
Good tip, thanks. Does the system you order not come with a perfect match to your bio hair? Why is that? If you are ordering custom they should be able to do it. I found one vendor that has a color that is a perfect match for me, however, the systems do fade over time. So i'd have to go...
I concur. It was not very easy to learn how to cut in, and like i said i ruined some. A significant step for me was going to a good stylist and observing what she did after i already had some experience. And like you said, nobody will give you a better cut in than yourself. Would you share...
I eventually learned to cut them in myself, so that's what i do now. I think I actually do a better job than a stylist, because the stylist has to be done in a half hour. I can work on it for days if i want. I did ruin several in the process so i put money into it, but now it's a big savings...
I also wear lace, and i do daily wear since I like to wash my head daily and I don't sleep with it. So I use ultra-hold tape, which works great for the first day. When I take it off I leave the tape on the inside of the system - when attaching I make a small fold at the end of each tape so...
I've used them and I think they're great. I never used their cut-in service but I would never use any. I used one some time back at another vendor and it looked absurd, so that idea (and the hair system) went into the trash. I think it may depend on your specific hairstyle and situation.
I have purchased from them too and i like them. They are my default provider now. The only thing i could say is that some systems the color was not consistent with what i had received previously. They also seem to fade over a few months but i suppose they all do that.
In fairness mate, you ordered custom systems and you damaged one taking it off the substrate. Nobody is going to give you a refund for that unless you can show the system itself was defective. I have purchased stock systems from LaVivid and was satisfied with them. I particularly found their...
I have purchased stock systems from LaVivid and have nothing bad to say about them. Their customer service is quite good. The only comment i can make is their color schemes run differently than other mfrs so be sure to either get their color ring or send in a sample for them to give you the...
I have learned to do my own cut ins. I've been buying stock systems and have learned how to make them look pretty good (or so i think). I acquired this skill only after watching others cut-in my systems and studying already cut systems. Yes, i have messed a few up, it's the price of progress...
I attach daily using Ultrahold tape on a French or Swiss lace system. After a couple of days the tape it begins to lose its tack so I apply MityTite (daily formula) to the tape, which makes it tacky again. I can usually do this for a few weeks, taking it off every night to wash my head and...
The video above is the best illustration i've seen. 1) place your old hair system inside out on top of a head mannequin. 2) place a plastic dome (like the one that came with your hair system to hold it up during shipping) on top of that 3) trace around your old hair system onto the plastic dome...
I have systems i have worn for 2 years and more. I take it off every day and i do not sleep with it. I have an office job so it is gently treated and i am not one to hang out in the sun. I use the same tape for a week at a time or more, plus clips. If i am involved in sports i have a...
