Were you losing like that before starting Propecia?

Yup, I took it for 6 weeks and stopped because I was losing hair from everywhere. Now 6 months after stopping I'm still losing hair from all over. Prior to Propecia I was only thinning in the crown area. So I guess if you stop you won't stop shedding either so I'm not sure what you should do.

It is getting tons of press too-BBC, Engadget, etc. Hopefully something positive comes out of this!

I second your post. A few weeks into taking finasteride and my hair all over started thinning and my eyebrows as well. Coincidence, I don't know.

If that much hairloss in 1 1/2 years is "very aggressive male pattern baldness" then I don't know what you'd call my crazy shedding in 8 months. I have my hair long so I don't really know how I compare to him but I'd say similar. I'll put up pictures once I get my hands on my digital camera.

I was using CVS bought Propecia. I didn't quit because of the shedding but because I guess I was one of the 2% that got sexual side effects. finasteride definitely seems to help most people so don't quit if it's doing fine for you. If I didn't get the sides I would have continued with the finasteride.

Well a number of people on here have had finasteride sheds that they haven't recovered from. I don't think anyone can explain that but there are threads about this if you search. Not really a Norwood anything yet, but I've gotten really diffuse on top in a horseshoe pattern. I'll try to post a picture.

Dude, I am losing hair extremely fast too. I was on finasteride for 6 weeks but had to quite due to sides and honestly before I was on finasteride I only had crown thinning. Since I started finasteride my male pattern baldness has gone nuts and even my sides and back are shedding. In 8 months I have lost tons of hair.

My prescribing physician did bother with some blood tests to test liver function prior to letting me get on Propecia.

Actually I had at one point, but I forgot, lol. It just seems like everyone attributes all your success to minoxidil. I still think you should add your routine to "your regimen".

I might be confusing people, but I thought Old Baldy uses or used finasteride too. Is that right?
