do yourself a favor and don't start finasteride until the loss becomes noticable to the average person. Your story is identical to mine, right down to the length of hair to the family history. I was in your position a year ago and started finasteride right away, and now I regret it deeply because i'm not 100%...

How do you apply minoxidil? it must be really hard with that much hair. Do you actually cover every spot on your scalp or do you apply it in a few areas and let it spread and absorb under the skin ?

i noticed the exact same things when i was around 5 months on finasteride as well. Especially the curly thing. The entire top of my head is much curlier then it was before i started finasteride. Now going on 8 months and it not any better. Im pretty sure finasteride just made it worse for me.

Im on finasteride and I have noticed the same thing in some of my hairs as well. my hair is about 3 inches long and it sometimes thins and then thickens 3 or 4 times on a single strand. Not all the hair i shed is that way, every once in a while i will find one like that. Are you on finasteride?

i had been following this thread for a long time and the guy had unreal results with propecia and nizoral alone. he took the pics down 8 days ago.. i think this guy was bullshitting.
