Thanks for this. I don't think I'll ever go full poly as I like the breathability of lace but I think it makes a lot of sense on the sides and back for me. Will try these tips for cleaning the poly edge. With the poly edge unit, I may try a 4 week hold (front will be re-done often). Will be...
Hi there, this is my next unit and I've never had any poly on any of my units. I just have a poly edge on the sides and back. I'm wondering if you could give some more detail on how you clean the poly? For lace, alcohol stops the stickiness but it's hard to get the glue off. That's why solvents...
Scalp.
In my experience I've found the glue sticks to the scalp protector more strongly than to the lace. This is also why I don't press it down hard other than right at the very front. So when you add alcohol to re-do the front and lift the lace, the residue is kept on the scalp. It's also a...
Used to have the same issue. These things fixed it.
1) Wait 8 or so mins after last layer of glue before putting the lace down, I use 2 layers and a little extra on temple areas.
2) Don't press the front down hard into the glue, let it roll down. Use a hair brush to pat it down then a comb to...
I do regrooms myself but cut ins I go to a Salon in Angel in London.
Sorry mate, don't know any salons in Essex but just try google maps. I don't know where in Essex you are but just searched the following...
For getting the solvent out I don't use anything special. I just use the one sold at LIDL (their own brand for normal/greasy hair). Because I'm just using it to get the solvent out I don't use anything special.
For when I actually wash the unit I use this one...
Shampooing too often is harmful but you need to shampoo it a few times to get the solvent out.
You want a shampoo that is specifically for "greasy/normal hair". Then wash it with that around 3 times and it's all out. Once you have done that you must condition it.
It used to always bug me how the salon would get a perfect glue line and I could never really replicate it back home and then thought of this technique and it's PERFECT every time.
1) Put lace down and trace out the limit with a SOFT eyeliner pencil. Make sure you are around 1/2 cm away from...
There is one in Hammersmith (http://hairworksandbeauty.com/) but I haven't used him. I think he charges £100 for a cut in but worth ringing and checking.
If you do end up using him, please give your opinion.
I don't have answers for your questions but am looking for someone with swiss lace to just ask a few basic questions as my next one is swiss (coming from french). If you have some time can you please answer the following:
1) What glue do you use at the front?
2) How do you clean it out with the...
Hey guys,
Have ordered my next system with the front only being swiss lace. I've read online that it's more delicate than French but am unsure what that actually translates to in terms of maintenance. Can anyone that wears a Swiss lace system give me some tips?
I only use Mity Tite glue on the...
I just had to re-do my system the other day for some reason and it's only been 3 weeks. The glue from the tape did leak through a bit this time. However I am from the UK and we have had a period of unusually hot weather. During usual conditions I can get 4 weeks but maybe 2-3 weeks when it's...
Hold time is as good if not better. Signature doesn't leave a mess even after 4 weeks and as you said it's A LOT thinner. Ultra-hold used to leave a little mess after 3 weeks.
I'm actually thinking of leaving a little gap with the tape on the sides from where it connects to the back. Then will...
