The tech he is using seems like adding a suction pump to a motorized punch. Since his punch size gets pretty small (0.5 mm), it would make sense to have the additional suction mechanism to help extract the smaller graft without much trauma. If he uses a direct hair transplantation (DHT)...
1. Wrong forum (but you knew that and posted here anyways)
2. How could you expect anybody to give you advice in the absence of pics of yourself and your brother's hairloss?
3. You will get a better response on the right forum with accompanying pics
For 7 months, I've been on a consistent regimen of weekly wounding (either dermapen at between 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm), dermastamp (1.5 mm) or dermaroller (1.5 mm) plus twice daily of minoxidil. NW6. I've definitely made gains but not really ones that I consider esthetically game changing. I still...
an interesting hypothesis proposed on a popular hairloss reddit sub about microneedling's success coming from picking up stem cells from healthy follicles and depositing them into thinning follicles. if you're microneedling, move the roller/pen into the terminal follicles first and then into the...
Not sure how much research you did prior to going for a hair transplant but you will never get the kind of density that doesn't reveal your scalp. In other words, the best density you can expect from the best hair transplant surgeon in the world is still going to be thinner than if you had no hair loss at all. If a...
Donor hair in transplants can come from areas of the head like the back and sides which are still susceptible to DHT. While even the most bald of men still have a fringe of hair that is immune from DHT, some hair on the backs and sides that seem safe are not. For doctors doing transplant...
Your progress is like mine - slow but there is cosmetically visible progress. We also seem to be on similar timelines as I started my regimen diligently in February too. Ours is a yearly battle, not a monthly one.
I just want to say that the use of a toilet paper tube for taking pics of progress is absolutely brilliant. I can now isolate certain sections of my scalp that is either thin or bald and I can better track the progress in those areas week by week. It will help me in determining if any kind of...
That looks like solid regrowth. Wish my hair would respond like that but after 6 months of 2-3 times a week of needling, twice daily of minoxidil and daily dose of 0.5 mg finasteride, I have seen no cosmetic difference. I thought I did but doesn't seem like I am a responder.
Sorry - not great pics but hopefully they show the growth I have seen since the end of February. The hair is a little longer in the second pic which might exaggerate the growth but there is definitely progress.
My regimen is 5% minoxidil - 2x daily
Dermapen at 2 mm at least once every 10 days...
I am seeing new regrowth!!!!!
51 years old, NW6. Since the end of February, I have been consistently dermastamping with a 1.5 mm stamp every 3 days and twice daily applications of minoxidil. I just recently added finasteride and nizoral. While I am reluctant to post my pics because the regrowth is minimal...
