I think mine started when I was 21. not really male pattern baldness at taht point though but I did notice some thinning at the crown area.

It looks like male pattern baldness to me, but to answer your question I do think you can have a hairline that looks like it has receeded since birth. my little brother when he was young used to pull at his hairline and twirl it and as a result he now has a more shiny forehead because the hairline is higher lol

has your hair always been that thick around the crown/top?
