Background, I'm 30 but I've been losing hair since around 17 or so. Up to know i've done no treatments (too scared of sides from finasteride) but recently I started noticing my crown is starting to get very noticeably thin, even at low cuts. It's not completely bald yet, but the density is about half of...
Alright guys... I'm a 28 year old black male and I just got back from my first hair transplant as a NW2/Temple/Vertex thinner. I have been losing my hair since 17 and have never been on meds. I've been debating whether to take the plunge for over a year now and finally did. Wanted to share my experience...
male pattern baldness will likely be cured in 5 years, but it will take the FDA 20 years to approve it for use in the US. You will have to fly to china to get treatment.
It's actually very simple.
IF your hair is DHT sensitive, temple hairs are the most sensitive so they get effected first. For example, if sensitivity was rated on a scale from 1-10, it would be something like this:
Temples - 10
Hairline - 7
Crown - 5
Middle portion of your head - 3
Sides and...
finfighter gave a pretty good summary about why inhibiting 5AR2 is bad and why people develop sides.
Also, one thing that I think finfighter left out is hormones work as a feedback system, so hibiting one hormone causes the rest of your hormones to compensate in other ways.
Personally, I...
Yup, it's pretty gay to be anywhere past NW1 as a black guy. Our hairline is exposed no matter what style we choose. Even braids/cornrows/dreads will expose the hairline.
If this were 100% guaranteed in 10 years I would not get a hair transplant.
I however don't believe it like everyone else so I'm going for it.
But question, say this does happen, what will happen to the areas where we have a hair transplant? Would you have double the amount of hairs there after regrowth
Wow RSR38 thanks for those pics. I had no idea hairloss STARTS for some people well into their late 30s.
I thought if you saw no recission by 30 you were safe. I guess I was wrong.
I was hoping my hairloss for all intents and purposes has stopped but I guess I'm still not safe further...
NW6 @ 22 damn that's rough. And I get frustrated with a NW2 receding hairline.
Anyway I know you're not going to want to hear this but your only option is to shave your head (which you already have done) and get ripped. I also hope you're tall. Also finishing school and making a lot of money...
I have a friend who is 29 years old and while his hair was always fairly thin he always had a NW0 hairline ever since I known him. All of a sudden he tells me about 6 months ago he feels his hair is starting to thin so hes going to buzz hsi hair.
I see him last week and his sporting a 1 buzz...
