1) How much do you pay for dutasteride each month? And from what pharmacy?
2) Will it be covered by insurance?
3) Anyone use generic dutasteride? If so, is it working?
4) If prescribed by your GP, how difficult was it to obtain a prescription since it's considered "off label"?
Thanks a bunch!
Nope, because I had thought finasteride was doing its job just fine. I have started to apply to the crown as the spot seems to widen. Here's the hoping it works.
Time for another update. I've said before finasteride despite not doing much for the front, has maintained my crown. Well I guess that time has come and gone. My crown is now starting to go. It might be due to how I was on travel and missed out on 2 weeks of finasteride and minoxidil. I am now back on the...
Echoing what Oliver said. There's almost no downside to trying out finasteride in the hopes it could save your hair, if not, slow down the loss to a snail pace. My hairloss is very similar to yours too in that it is diffused and my crown is also in tact. Even though finasteride is not giving me new hairs it did...
Update time.
Got a haircut yesterday and idk what in the world I was thinking asking the barber to cut it all off. I suppose I was curious to see the extent of my hair loss and boy do I regret it.
First the positives:
- finasteride has definitely maintained the crown and top very very well. Hair up...
OP, there's plenty of photo editing apps that can hide your face and they are free. Titling a thread using words like cure male pattern baldness will draw a lot of attention in this space that's often filled with hopelessness. Yes, I believe your genuine but the pictures would just be icing on a cake.
Hello all. I want to know if there's anyone here that experienced shedding on minoxidil when they are deep into treatment. I started applying minoxidil once a day starting late 2013, so just over 2 years. Although it did not regrow any hair to the best of my knowledge, it in combination with finasteride has...
Have you tried dutasteride? And yes, my days of slicking the hair up or backwards is quite numbered :(

Thanks buddy. Except I am 25 now :) And I won't say my hairloss is minimal. I just have long hair to cover up the lack of density. Each of my strand up top is about 4 inches long...
Guys here are the pictures that I promised. As you can see, the difference between these and the first set i uploaded back when I started the thread 2.5 years ago is startling. The hairline is getting destroyed...
Regimen is still the same, although clearly the finasteride is not working. I did...
So is there no way to tell whether lost hair is shedding (thin hair falling out but will later grow back thicker)or male pattern baldness? The only way to tell is by grinding through and hoping for the best I guess...at what point do I stop and consider treatment a failure?
Hey guys. It's been a year and a half since I started this thread and unfortunately things are getting dire. Hair loss never halted and I am definitely not a good responder to finasteride, as it's already been 2+ years of use. I still apply minoxidil once a day before bed but I have increased the dose. As a...
Is there a way to tell whether one is shedding or simply continuing to lose hair? I've been on the big 3 for two years now and have continued to lose hair throughout this time frame. Hair is noticeably worse than baseline. There's no such thing as a continual shed right? Seems like what I am...
Shampooing and styling in the morning is the only method to give my otherwise thin hair some volume (and mask the loss). If my hair loss wasn't so bad I would definitely shampoo at night, apply minoxidil, wake up the next morning and go about my day. Unfortunately, doing so will guarantee a terrible...
