Anyone use dry shampoos with their systems?

I use a bit of dry shampoo on my bio hair between attachments, as it's easier than washing with water and means I can refresh the bio hair without having to wash the hair system (thus it retains its colour better). I try to avoid getting dry shampoo on the hair system.

Does length of system hair affect shedding?

I don't notice any faster shedding with longer hair (my hair system is 10 - 12 inches long). If anything, the extra length gives me more styling options to hide any blemishes in the system etc.

Walker Ultra Hold Adhesive - a gooey, sticky mess to apply

Thanks for the replies. Do you find Ultra Hold adhesive damages lace? I mean, that stuff clings hard to it, and it bound to wear the lace down a bit on detachment and cleaning.

Why does the colour on a hair system fade faster than the colour on bio hair?

How come European hair has heavy red undertones? I've never tried it - is it not possible to get a wide range of colours? I go for medium brown (usually #5 on the colour chart, but I've tried #6 also), but it's always been with Indian/Remy hair.

Why does the colour on a hair system fade faster than the colour on bio hair?

Oh I see. Is that why hair system hair dries out faster too? (That, and the fact that natural oil from the scalp doesn't get into it?)

Why does the colour on a hair system fade faster than the colour on bio hair?

I was wondering, what is it about hair systems that makes their colour fade faster than bio hair (with expose to sunlight, bright lights etc) ? I know colour (whether natural or dyed) on bio hair CAN fade in sunlight, but it doesn't seem to fade as fast as that on a hair system. Since hair on...

Jiu Jitsu and a hair system? Is it possible?

Isn't there any way you could wear a head guard? I've seen some people who do martial arts wear those. Or you could invent an excuse to wear one. That way, you won't have to worry about anything happening to your hair while doing martial arts.

how are you dealing with gray hair?

If you have a longer hair system or wear a full cap, grey hair is less of an issue since a hair system doesn't turn grey (unless you choose it to be that colour), and with a longer partial system you can cover it over your grey hair (though it'll still need to be dyed). Also, a hair system dyed...

Which tape is best for Lace Front hairline?

Yeh, I've tried Walker 'no shine' tape for the hairline, and it doesn't live up to its claims. If you are exposed to bright lights or bright sunlight, it DOES shine, and quite a LOT. It's very disappointing that they market it as 'no shine'. A better solution is Walker Tape Ultra Hold adhesive...

Walker Ultra Hold Adhesive - a gooey, sticky mess to apply

Thanks for the info, but doesn't isopropyl weaken or break the bond? I mean, we use isopropyl to detach a hair system, to release the tape and/or glue, so how does putting 50% isopropyl into Ultra Hold make it still work?

Walker Ultra Hold Adhesive - a gooey, sticky mess to apply

So I decided to try Walker Tape Ultra Hold Adhesive, and my order arrived today. I only use it for the front of the hairline where the parting is exposed - I use tape for the rest of my attachment. I noticed the Ultra Hold is quite thick and gooey, and quite tricky to apply. I thought the...

Swiss Lace or French for first system?

Far too many! But most of the common mistakes beginners new to hair systems make - not knowing effective ways to detach/attach it properly, not knowing how to position it consistently, not knowing how to properly condition it, not knowing how to cut it in or style it to make it look realistic...

Swiss Lace or French for first system?

I had Swiss lace for my first system. It was fine, but I did lack experience and made a lot of mistakes. I think it's generally accepted that you'll make mistakes with your first ever system, regardless of what type of base it has. It takes a while to get used to it all and possibly a few...

how are you dealing with gray hair?

It does, but its ok if you don't wash your bio hair TOO often, and you can apply a bit more Back2Natural to bio hair (and the hair system) at each attachment or as and when needed. It works for me because most of my bio hair is covered up by my hair system anyway, and I only wash it once every...

how are you dealing with gray hair?

Yes, Back2Natural can do that on bio hair. It doesn't last as long as permanent or semi-permanent dye, though, but it works depending on how much grey hair you have.
